The trendy sport from the U.S. has also made its way to Bremervörde

A truly trendy sport has made its way across the "Big Pond" from the U.S. all the way to the shores of Lake Vörder, adding yet another attraction to the Bremervörde Nature and Adventure Park.

Disc golf is a sport from the United States that has been played in Europe since the late 1970s and has gained the most new fans of any sport in recent years.

Relaxed exercise in the great outdoors, fun from the very first moment, and social interaction make disc golf a top experience for families, groups, and people of all ages.

How does disc golf work?
Instead of using a club to hit a ball toward the hole, as in golf, players throw discs that must land in a catch basket at the end of a course. The player who completes the course in the fewest throws wins.

Where can you rent equipment, and where does the course start?
If you’d like to try this trendy sport for yourself, you can rent the necessary equipment for a small fee at the Bremervörde Tourist Information Office or at the Seebistro Waterkieker on Lake Vörder. While the Tourist Information Office has a larger supply and renting there is particularly suitable for groups (advance reservations are recommended), the bistro tends to have smaller quantities available for individuals, families, and small groups for last-minute rentals. Use of the 18 holes by the lake—where tournaments are also held regularly—is free of charge. The course begins with Hole 1, right next to the “Haus am See” restaurant.

Give it a try—maybe you’ll become a disc golfer, too!
