In order to make the diversity of the tree species there more tangible, an educational tree trail was set up in the city park in 2018. Information boards were set up on 40 trees, both native and foreign species, explaining the special features of the tree species such as size, age, flowers, fruit, growth form and possible uses.
A leaflet has been produced for the educational tree trail, which shows the exact locations of the various tree species so that they can be deliberately visited if interested or viewed as a whole on a tour. The educational tree trail also offers school classes the opportunity to get to know both native and exotic trees.

Über die A39 bis Abfahrt Salzgitter-Watenstedt. Dann über die Konrad-Adenauer-Straße in den Stadtteil Lebenstedt hineinfahren. Der Bahnhof ist an der großen Kreuzung vor dem Innenstadtbereich linkerhand, neben dem Bundesamt für Strahlenschutz. Dorthinter führt ein Weg in den Stadtpark.
Parken
Kostenpflichtige Parkplätze stehen am Bahnhof zur Verfügung. Es ist auch ein Einstieg aus dem Wohngebiet an der Swindonstraße heraus in den Park möglich. Dann bitte im Wohngebiet die zahlreichen kostenfreien Parkflächen am Straßenrand nutzen.

Direkt am Stadtpark liegt der Regionalbahnhof Salzgitter-Lebenstedt mit der Verbindung RB 44 und RB 48 nach Braunschweig (über SZ-Watenstedt, SZ-Immendorf und SZ-Thiede). Gleich benachbart ist der ZOB Salzgitter-Lebenstedt.
