Discover the Mudflats – Mudflat Tour During the Migratory Bird Days

The Wadden Sea is a paradise for birds. They also feast to their hearts’ content in the Bensersiel breeding and resting area. The Wadden Sea is a giant “fast-food” feeding ground. Mussels, worms, snails, and seaweed are at the top of their diet. But who eats what? Let’s search, discover, and marvel together. Every year, millions of migratory birds take a break on their long journeys to their wintering grounds to rest and feed here.
Experience the fascinating spectacle of migratory birds in the Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site! A mudflat tour that will delight young and old alike! Let’s marvel, search, and discover together! Along the way, we’ll not only learn the secrets of migratory birds, but also get to the bottom of what mudskippers are all about and track down shore crabs and clams. An experience for all generations.

Suitable footwear includes old lace-up sneakers or well-fitting rubber boots. Participation is not permitted barefoot. For safety reasons, a mudflat hike is not possible with a child or baby in a carrier or on your shoulders. Dogs are not permitted.
