Sommerliche Orgelkonzerte 2026 - Sebastian Freitag

Born in Paderborn in 1986, studied church music (A examination) and organ (concert examination) at the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold with Prof. Gerhard Weinberger, Prof. Dr. Martin Sander and Prof. Tomasz Adam Nowak. Graduated with distinction. From 2013 to 2022, Freitag was deanery church musician in the Archdiocese of Paderborn, based in Schloss Neuhaus. From 2017 to 2022, Sebastian Freitag held a teaching position for organ at the University of Paderborn. From 2011-2013 he held the position of Paderborn Cathedral organist and since March 2022 he has been the cathedral organist at the Cathedral of St. Trinitatis in Dresden (Hofkirche). He has also been teaching organ literature and improvisation at the Dresden University of Church Music since the winter semester 2024/25. He has performed the complete works of Bach (2018 in Paderborn and 2025 in Dresden), Franck (2019) and Buxtehude (2021). Two CD recordings as well as recordings for television and radio round off his activities.
