Schlosskonzert: Streichquartett der Bamberger Symphoniker

Founded in 2025, this sensational ensemble brings together violinists Ilian Garnetz and Serge Zimmermann, violist Wen Xiao Zheng, and cellist Marius Urba—all outstanding musicians holding leading positions in the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. As concertmaster and section leaders, they bring together an extraordinary wealth of experience in both solo and chamber music—but above all, a musical rapport that has grown over many years.

The four string players bring this jointly developed sense of connection to their intimate ensemble. In this way, they combine the energy and freedom of soloistic interplay with the sensitivity and uncompromising attention demanded by this supreme discipline of chamber music. At the heart of their artistry is a shared quest for an immediate, colorful, and vibrant approach to the string quartet repertoire—supported by individual voices and the commitment to forge them into a unified sound.
