POPSALON - Robert Stadlober
TODAY AT THE CHURCH OF PEACE: Robert Stadlober
"If we are not cruel, then we immediately believe we are good." - ROBERT STADLOBER opens his literary-musical journey with this sentence by Kurt Tucholsky. Together with guitar and piano, he combines Tucholsky's texts with his own melodies and makes it possible to experience how little the big questions and impositions of our time have changed. It is about the inability of human closeness, about love and hate, about the senselessness of violence and the hopelessness of politics, which is communicated through violence. Stadlober condenses Tucholsky's thoughts into a haunting performance that alternates between song, language and play. His program is not a museum reminiscence, but a diagnosis of the present: Tucholsky's sentences, which are over a hundred years old, put a finger in wounds that we know all too well - from the longing for a "real life" to the perpetual struggle for a small piece of the whole.
