FINNEGAN TUI, multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter from New Zealand, creates profound folk in the tradition of Ben Howard, Bon Iver, RY X, SYML or Nick Mulvey and ties in with the outlaw experiments of Aussi Hugo Race. Nature serves as inspiration for the sensitive man in his early twenties - and this finds its way powerfully into his work: mystical associations as zeitgeisty, moving scores in the style of Emiliana Torrini. In September '24, FINNEGAN TUI released "Old One", a unique mix of acoustic intimacy and powerful electronic flair, inspired by the narrative traditions of folk music: TUI creates a dark soundscape in which thunder and river noises glide into the compositions. FINNEGAN TUI wrote the song after a period of deep self-reflection, channeled through an extreme self-experiment in the wilderness. The musician returned from the soul-changing journey with a new vision, inspired to write a magnum opus, with "Old One" as the first taste. The next single he released was 'Fuel On The Fire' in January 2025: the track builds steadily, with lush harmonies and ornate instrumentation. In the climax, the song unfolds a cathartic force that perfectly reflects the themes of overcoming and departure. FINNEGAN TUI supported FINK at a sold-out Huxley's (Berlin) in November 2024, his first headlining show in Germany took place at Lark (Berlin) in February 2025.
