La Gâpette
The concert hall as a bistro – La Gâpette comes to Stade
The German-French Society Stade, in cooperation with the Cultural Circle Stade, has brought the group La Gâpette to Stade. For over twenty years, the 6 Breton musicians from Vitré have been enchanting their audience with their art. The Bretons perform concerts all over Europe, are invited to festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Sziget Festival in Budapest, or the Summer Festival of Cultures in Stuttgart, and captivate the audience with their dynamism and joy.
They transform the concert hall into a bistro, bring their counter with them, and serve their captivating music with profound, sometimes humorous, sometimes melancholic lyrics. Due to their diverse instrumentation, they have already been nominated for the Folk Music Award Germany.
The music, featuring accordion, banjo, electric guitar, trumpet, bass, and drums, is situated between traditional musette, jazz manouche, and chanson-rock, appealing to a wide audience, just as the flat cap symbolizes, the Gâpette, worn by young and old and by people from all walks of life.
The primary goal of the Bretons is to be cross-style and cross-generational. A plea for humanity and peaceful coexistence.
Concert in collaboration with the German-French Friendship Society Stade e.V.
