Winds and Wonders

The newly founded Trio con M.I.O. – named after the initials of Maria Narodytska (piano), Ian Mardon (violin), and Olga Dowbusch-Lubotsky (cello) – unites three outstanding Hamburg musicians in a classical chamber music ensemble. With their shared passion for the intimate world of chamber music, they love to captivate the audience through nuanced interpretations and innovative programming. The trio not only dedicates itself to the masterpieces of tradition but also opens doors to lesser-known treasures, providing fresh perspectives on the rich history of music and revealing new facets and unexpected angles to the listener.

What unites the three artists from three different nations is the desire for an intense chamber music exchange – a lively dialogue between the musicians, the music itself, and the audience.
For the trio, music is not an abstract art form but immediate expression, personal statement, and direct communication with the work and its composer. This open, sensitive, and at the same time passionate approach transfers to the audience, which is actively involved in this musical process.
A concert by Trio con M.I.O. is therefore much more than just an event. It is a vibrant conversation full of tension, depth, and emotion – a shared experience that deeply moves, captivates attention, and resonates long after.
