A Glimpse into the Krummhörn Village of Groothusen.
Hero-Georg Boomgaarden will take you on an entertaining guided tour of the Warfendorf village of Groothusen. He’ll share stories of both beautiful and thought-provoking events and a real East Frisian mystery , and illustrates what life was like for the people in the village—with its many craft workshops, large farms, and numerous small workers’ houses—right up until the  1960s. But why does a golden (Luther) swan adorn the imposing tower of the Reformed church? Why did Groothusen, as an important port and trading settlement, have three castles? What does Groothusen have to do with the Swedish royal family? Hero-Georg Boomgaarden will answer these questions—as well as any of your own about East Frisia and the East Frisians—in a knowledgeable and entertaining way, taking you on an exciting
journey through time in his hometown. The village tour begins in front of the church.
