For the first time, Bleckede is taking part in a nationwide campaign to commemorate people
who were persecuted during the Nazi era: DENK MAL AM ORT (DMAO). We commemorate
our Jewish fellow citizens at and in their former homes in Bleckede town center

The initiative group*, which is preparing this Bleckede Remembrance Weekend in cooperation with the DMAO organizer in Berlin, has also contacted the descendants, the grandchildren's generation, of the families concerned. Some of them will be with us in Bleckede in April, others who now live in the USA, Scandinavia or South America have sent us new information.
