Discover the Elbe river landscape at the Biosphaerium Elbtalaue, the information center for the Lower Saxony Elbe Valley Biosphere Reserve, in the historic Bleckede Castle.
Birds of all ages can learn about the special features of the Lower Saxony Elbe Valley Biosphere Reserve on a playful journey of discovery with a bird song piano, wind machine, flooding model and much more. The stork live camera provides a very special insight from April to August: From the first egg to the hatching of the chicks and the fledgling storks, you can follow the family life of the Adebars in their Bleckede nest.
In the aquarium landscape, you can experience the inhabitants of the fish-rich Elbe from eel to zander up close. Even the prehistoric sturgeon can be found here! Next door, you can observe the master builder beaver - a real character animal of the Elbe valley floodplain - in his castle or swimming in the pond.
The castle café "Herr Biber" smells of home-baked cake - the perfect place for a short breather before continuing on, perhaps to the historic town center of Bleckede or into the fascinating Elbe valley floodplain. Both are just a few minutes' walk from the biosphaerium.
