Boogielicious!
-Blues Meets Gospel-
...is a German-Dutch boogie, blues, and jazz trio that was originally founded in 2007 as a duo by Eeco Rijken Rapp (piano, vocals) and David Herzel (drums), but just one year later became even more cohesive and diverse as a trio with Dr. Bertram Becher’s blues harmonica. Boogielicious is currently arguably one of the most extraordinary boogie groups on the European scene, catapulting the highly popular music of the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s into the current century. With their six albums, the three musicians have now worked their way to the forefront of their genre. While the media marveled at the consistent quality of Eeco Rijken Rapp and David Herzel’s debut album “Boogielicious” (Press reviews: “Effortless, weightless, simply wonderful”), the trio’s unmistakable signature sound on subsequent albums is also shaped by the blues harmonica—an instrument rarely used in boogie. Their live performances consistently become acclaimed highlights of the concert season, and the “Boogielicious” project has also reached new heights internationally. The band’s enormous enthusiasm spills over to the audience not only at their numerous successful concerts in Germany, but also at concerts in France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium, England, and Portugal. Boogielicious is a trio that electrifies lovers of handmade music and delights boogie-woogie fans, old-school rock ’n’ rollers, and traditional jazz and blues enthusiasts alike. The three musicians captivate audiences with their incredible virtuosity and the uniqueness of their repertoire, and they impress with their brilliant ensemble playing. Jazz seems to be a way of life for them! Boogielicious appeals to audiences far beyond the realms of boogie-woogie and blues and, with their authentic and down-to-earth sound, are now once again drawing many young fans to their concerts! In short, and as the band’s name suggests:
Delicious boogie-woogie and more!
