Experience nature and culture
Blooming wildflowers in spring, canoeing on the Weser and Emmer rivers in summer, mushroom hunting in fall and long winter walks: the Weserbergland Nature Park offers magical moments at any time of year. Around a third of the nature park is forested. Near-natural deciduous forests predominate, a remarkably large part of which is even protected as natural forest and will be developed into primeval forest in the long term. No wonder the Weserbergland is an extremely popular hiking area. Along the way, you can always enjoy impressive views from the many cliffs and lookout towers. Between the mountain ranges lies a cultural landscape, which in many places is still rural and varied. Small rivers such as the Emmer, Hamel and Saale meander along here, all of which flow into the Weser. If you want to accompany them, cycle along the Weser Cycle Path, one of the most popular long-distance cycle routes in Germany. Or take a canoe and let yourself be carried along by the current.

The nature park is part of the National Natural Landscapes (NNL). In this alliance, Germany's national parks, nature parks, biosphere reserves and wilderness areas work together with people to preserve fascinating nature on around a third of Germany's surface area, convey the joy of experiencing nature and shape the future sustainably with confidence. It stands for diversity, tolerance and democracy.
