The lynx tour with the lynx head as a symbol leads through the Harz National Park. The approx. 16.6-kilometre circular trail starts at the Bad Harzburger Wandertreff in the Kurpark. The hiking time for this moderately difficult tour is estimated at a good five hours. Guided by the lynx head on wooden posts or under the national park signposts, the recommended route leads clockwise over the B4 bridge on the Herzogweg to Antoniusplatz on the Burgberg. If you want to avoid the first steep climb, take the Burgberg cable car up to the plateau and follow the lynx to Antoniusplatz.
On the path of reflection, the route continues via the Säperstelle to the Cross of the German East, where you can enjoy a magnificent view from a lounger. The route then leads to the Rabenklippe forest restaurant, where you can stop for refreshments. Finally, you can marvel at the lynxes in the nearby open-air enclosure.
After saying goodbye to the lynxes, the descent into the Eckertal valley follows. Along the Ecker, the former German-German border, you reach the Ahlburg. Continue to the ascent (Braunschweiger Weg) to the Molkenhaus. There, a forest swing by the Hassel pond is waiting for you to relax. Refreshments can be taken at the Molkenhaus forest restaurant. The way back to Bad Harzburg takes you past the Ettersklippen cliffs via the old Molkenhauschaussee road to the Philosophenbach stream in the Kalten Tal valley. The route leads back along the high ropes course and over the B4 bridge to the spa gardens.
