tide-dependent canoe route from Barßel to Harkebrügge, distance approx. 10.2 km, duration approx. 2 1/2 hours

From the dock of the Paddle-and-Pedal station Barßel, the route leads left past the Barßel lighthouse into the Soeste and thus through the center of Barßel. From now on, you basically can't get lost; at most, narrow old arms branch off from the Soeste, so if you stay on the broader waterway, you are on the right track. After about 1 1/2 hours, Lohe is reached, where there is also a rest dock. About another hour and the destination of the canoe route, the rest dock Harkebrügge, is reached.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

Our combo route:
Combine canoeing and cycling for a great day trip with paddle and pedal. Paddle by canoe to the neighboring station and return by bike.

Safety guidelines

All participants should be able to swim well.
Alcohol consumption is not allowed on the water either.
Maintain distance from other watercraft. Canoes always have the duty to give way and are sometimes poorly seen by motorboat drivers.
Start time must be coordinated with the tide times to avoid a tour against the current.
