The Wisentgehege Springe is located south of Hanover and is a worthwhile tour destination for the whole family.
Here, visitors can observe animals in their natural habitat on an area of over 90 ha. Today, a total of 100 European animal species are kept and bred in this zoo. These include species such as the Przewalski's horse, elk, beaver, lynx, brown bear, wolf and also many ducks, geese and birds of prey.
The bison enclosure was originally founded in 1928 to save the bison from extinction. To date, the bison enclosure has made a significant contribution to the conservation of this species with 350 animals born in the park. In the 50s, the enclosure developed further into an animal park.

Das Wisentgehege befindet sich rund 30 km südlich von Hannover in Niedersachsen. Es liegt ungefähr 60 km nördlich von Einbeck entfernt.
Autofahrer erreichen das Wisentgehege Springe von Einbeck aus über die B3 oder die L588. Wer mit Navi fährt, bei welchem das Wisentgehege noch nicht als Ausflugsziel bekannt ist, muss "Alvesrode", (PLZ 31832, gehört zu Springe), Straße "Zum Saupark" eingeben. Die kleine Ortschaft Alvesrode ist nur 1 km vom Wisentgehege entfernt. Das Wisentgehege ist dort gut ausgeschildert.
Anreise mit Bus und Bahn:
In Springe und Völksen gibt es einen Zuganschluss. Von beiden Ortschaften aus fährt die Linie 382 direkt das Wisentgehege an und hält am Haupteingang. Die Haltestelle heißt "Wisentgehege".
