Werksmuseum Alstom Salzgitter

Museum
Would you like to experience the history of trains up close?
Then visit the ALSTOM factory museum in Salzgitter. A special historical highlight is the Court Salon Carriage 2a of Empress Auguste Victoria (1858 - 1921). It is the best preserved of the five court saloon cars still in existence today. Fans of steam locomotives and streetcars will also get their money's worth here. The origins of the site, which now belongs to the French ALSTOM Group, date back to 1893, when Gottfried Linke and his company "Wagenbauanstalt Gottfried Linke" in Breslau received their first order for the construction of 100 open freight wagons.
Please note that tours of the museum for groups are only possible on request (usually at weekends). The museum is not open to the public.
