Since May 2012, the Steinhuder Museums have brought together two fascinating worlds under one roof, offering visitors an engaging journey through time. The Fishermen’s and Weavers’ Museum immerses guests in the everyday life of Steinhude more than a century ago. Carefully arranged exhibits of tools, crafts and living spaces bring the traditions of fishing and weaving vividly to life, revealing the craftsmanship and resilience that once shaped this lakeside community. In the same building, the Toy Museum awakens childhood memories with its delightful collection of dolls, tin toys and miniature treasures. Each piece tells a story of creativity and imagination from past generations, capturing the charm of simpler times. The combination of both museums creates a unique cultural experience where history, tradition and nostalgia meet in one captivating setting. Perfect for families, groups, and curious travellers of all ages, the Steinhuder Museums invite visitors to discover, explore and reconnect with the spirit of everyday life and play from a bygone era.
