Schlossgarten Schloss Hünnefeld

Castle park
Built in the 13th century as a moated castle, rebuilt in the 17th century as a three-winged, two-storey complex.

Around 1800, Clamor Adolph Theodor von dem Bussche transformed the former baroque garden into a magnificent English landscape park. It is connected to the palace by the so-called "World Island" and has many exotic trees such as the liriodendron and the handkerchief tree, which Clamor August's nephew planted in 1840.
The Café "Alte Rentei" is well worth a visit. In a historic ambience and with a direct view of the castle and the Dove Tower, you can spend some pleasant hours enjoying coffee and cake or celebrating parties such as weddings, christenings or anniversaries.
