You will find the paddle and pedal station directly on East Frisia's largest inland lake, the Great Sea.
East Frisia is the land of waterways and canals, bascule bridges, locks and mills. That's why it's particularly appealing to explore this landscape by bike or canoe.

Experience Südbrookmerland by bike or from the water. The paddle and pedal station at the Großer Meer is the ideal starting point for your bike tour.

Start the 3-Sea-Trail directly at East Frisia's largest inland lake and get to know the region and its special features on 15 km around the Großer Meer, the Hieve and the Loppersumer Meer. Various stations provide you with information about the flora, fauna, life and work in this beautiful natural region. If you want to extend the circular route to approx. 30 km, take a detour to the leaning church tower in Suurhusen and marvel at one of the world's most leaning towers - ranked second in the world. Of course, you can also take a tour through Südbrookmerland from here. The 35km-long Route 900 takes you past cultural highlights and historic buildings. Get to know life and work in Südbrookmerland over the last 900 years. In Wiegboldsbur, the three-storey Galerieholländer and the history of the miller's trade await you. If you want to find out more about the colonization of the moor, visit the Moormusen in Moordorf and village life in East Frisia in the last century awaits you in the Dörpmuseum in Münkeboe. In addition to these three stops on the route, there are other cultural institutions and their history to discover. Of course, you also have the option of putting together your very own route - simply use the junction system and experience Südbrookmerland.

If you prefer to experience Südbrookmerland and East Frisia from the water, hire a canoe or kayak and conquer the Great Sea and the surrounding canals. From here, you can follow the tranquil waterways to Emden and the surrounding area. You decide for yourself whether you want to take one of the predetermined routes or circuits or choose your own route - a route map will help you find your way. If you pause for a moment during your paddle tour and listen to the surrounding sounds, you will notice that the waterways have their very own charm and allow you to immerse yourself in a different side of South Brookmerland.

For those who prefer a more relaxed approach, hire a pedal boat and take a trip across the Great Sea - an ideal excursion for families with children, as the lake is only one meter deep on average.

For your own safety, however, life jackets are always mandatory - you can always get these for your excursion directly at the paddle and pedal station.
