Old lighthouse Wangerooge
This historic building offers more than just a spectacular view of the island and the North Sea. Inside, the island museum invites you on a fascinating journey into history. The permanent exhibition tells the story of the island's towers and navigation marks, which illustrate both the island's transformation through the ages and its strategic importance. From its role as a military base to bathing life - the stories of islanders, guests and researchers come to life here.
The viewing platform offers a very special experience: at a height of 39 meters, a breathtaking view opens up far out, even as far as Heligoland 43 kilometers away on a clear day. A must-see when visiting the island of Wangerooge!
