The "New Lighthouse" is made of reinforced concrete and is full of technology. The tower combines radar technology and leading lights. Its leading light at a height of 60 meters guides the large tankers into the entrance to the Jade fairways. A secondary light guides shipping traffic as a warning and orientation light to the west and south through the shallows of the Wadden Sea.
The lighthouse is located in the immediate vicinity of the West Tower and can be reached via the road to the west. It is not open to the public, but a flying visit to the foot of the tower on a tour around the west is still worthwhile.
