Brome Castle in the southern Lüneburg Heath is one of over 70 border fortresses in the Principality of Lüneburg. The museum's trademark is the Living Museum events. Visitors can try their hand at forging iron or hammering wooden nails into shoes. All workshops are set up as authentically as possible, as if the master had just gone out to eat. Modern media such as information terminals, videos and photos complement the exhibition.
