The oldest library in East Frisia, founded in 1559 in the reformed parish, contains a valuable, historical collection of books, an encyclopaedic collection covering all fields of science and the Emden Bible. In 1948, the Great Church, Emden's "Moederkerk", was destroyed. The library and archive have been preserved and are now housed in the rebuilt church.
A library that is also more: an unusual space for cultural events - in the middle of the city.
In addition to concerts, conferences are regularly held here!

- General Information on AccessibilityAlle Räumlichkeiten im Mittelschiff sind für Besucher im Rollstuhl weitgehend barrierefrei zugänglich. Die Etagen sind über einen Personenaufzug mit ausreichender Türbreite begehbar. Drei Parkplätze sind für Menschen mit Gehbehinderung vorhanden. Ein behindertengerechtes WC befindet sich im Untergeschoss und ist ohne Weiteres mit dem Fahrstuhl erreichbar. Leih-Lupen liegen an der Auskunftstheke bereit.
