Diek Tower
The well-preserved Diek Tower constructed in the late 15th century was built in the Middle Ages to strengthen Einbeck’s city fortifications and is located in the south of Einbeck. This massive round tower received its name from Heinrich Diek, a son of one of Einbeck’s patrician families. It is said that Diek caused the huge city fire in Einbeck in 1540 and thus he was executed.
In former days the tower had a pointed cone roof. This roof disappeared over the years. In the second half of the 18th century a bathhouse was built in front of the tower.

From Einbeck central train station you can get to Diek Towere in approximately 14 minutes (1.1 kms).
On foot:
You can walk to Diek Tower from Einbeck’s pedestrian precinct in a couple of minutes. From Market Square, it takes less than 10 minutes (700 metres) to Diek Tower.
By car:
You can easily get to Einbeck via federal road B3. Parking opportunities may be found in the surrounding streets and on the parking lots of the city centre that are close by (e.g. Neustädter Kirchplatz and parking garage at the brewery). License (master data)
