Diedrichsburg can be reached on foot via the west and north gates left behind by the former game park. From the Melle-West motorway exit, the route is signposted directly to the west gate via signs saying "Meller Berge" or "Diedrichsburg".
Diedrichsburg can also be reached by car via the north gate by appointment and after 6 pm. Other gates (south and east gate) are connected to hiking trails and can therefore only be reached on foot.
