An adventure playground for adults has been created on the site of the decommissioned natural gas steam power plant in Meppen. The world map painted by Swiss artist Christoph Rihs on the 131-metre-high cooling tower in 1994 is a landmark visible from afar. According to the Guinness Book of Records, it is the largest in the world.
There are various routes and courses for horsepower adventures around the cooling tower. There is a choice of two-door Jeep Wranglers, buggies and quads for off-road driving, a Ferrari F360 Spider, a Porsche 911 GT3 and a Lamborghini Gallardo for a speed rush and a Russian gun tank for a very special driving experience. There is also an indoor go-kart track, which can be extended with an outdoor curve if the weather is good.
Right next to the old cooling tower is the obstacle-rich outdoor playing field for paintball battles.
Since Funpark Meppen also has its own catering facilities and a large ballroom, all of the above can be used for company celebrations, weddings and other parties.
