Wattwandern zur Vogelschutzinsel Minsener Oog
A 4.5-hour mudflat hike (round trip) leads from Schillig Beach through the Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site, to the bird sanctuary island of Minsener Oog. The route to the island is covered on foot across the seabed. Participants can look forward to a unique nature experience offering insights into the diverse animal and bird life, as well as the opportunity to enjoy the tranquility and vastness of the mudflat landscape between tides. On the island, a bird warden will share interesting stories about the local birdlife.
Important Information:
- Clothing: Windproof outerwear and lightweight pants.
- Footwear: Sturdy lace-up shoes, sneakers, or neoprene boots are mandatory. Walking barefoot is not permitted!
- Protection: Head covering and sunscreen.
- Food and drinks: Bring snacks and drinks in your backpack.
- Other: Keep a change of clothes in the car.
- Dogs: Dogs are not permitted.
- Children ages 8 and older may participate when accompanied by an adult.
- Participants must be physically fit and in good health.
