Verdener Domweih

  • Town festival
A city is in an uproar.
The origins of the Domweih, Verden’s “fifth season,” date back to the Middle Ages. In 985, the bishop at the time was granted market rights, among other privileges. Once a free market where vendors from outside the city could also sell their goods, Verden’s Domweih is now a large folk festival featuring a parade, amusement rides, and food stands—a six-day celebration for the whole family.
