Tour 2 „Durch die Schleuse“ mit der MS Stadt Aurich
Far away from stress and traffic on the Ems-Jade Canal aboard the passenger ship MS Stadt Aurich.
As the ship leaves the harbor, Aurich’s waterfront promenade runs alongside it just past the first bridge. Shortly thereafter, it reaches the “Kukelorum” lock, where it is lowered from 3.70 meters above sea level to 2.70 meters above sea level. The canal bed runs significantly higher than its meadow-rich surroundings. This elevated vantage point often offers unexpected glimpses of rare waterfowl or herds of sheep and horses. After passing the Fahnster Bridge, you’ll see the only shipyard still in operation on the Ems-Jade Canal. In the Ihlow district of Bangstede, the ship turns around and, after a 2 1/2-hour journey, returns to the Port of Aurich.

Departure: 2:00 p.m., Aurich Harbor (corner of Hasseburgerstraße and Tannenbergstraße).
The round trip takes 2 1/2 hours.

- There are parking spaces right at the harbor. You will receive a parking pass once you board the ship. If these spaces are full, please use the large parking lot at the Sparkassen-Arena (Emder Str. 4).

Minimum charter duration: 2.5 hours
The hourly charter rate also applies to empty trips and any waiting time. Charter tours from Aurich to Emden are available from mid-May through mid-September.
Cancellation policy for individual, group, or charter bookings:
Bookings can be canceled free of charge up to 30 days before the date.
Up to 15 days before the date: 30%.
Up to 2 days before the date: 80%.
