Far away from stress and traffic on the Ems-Jade Canal aboard the passenger ship MS Stadt Aurich.
The six-hour cruise, plus a two-hour stop in Emden, is the longest—and, of course, the most beautiful—day trip offered by the MS Stadt Aurich. Far from settlements and roads, the view takes in the characteristic expanses of East Frisia. Starting at the “Mittelhaus,” a swing bridge halfway along the route, the observant passenger will notice from the unusually numerous and sometimes tight curves that the canal here follows the course of a former riverbed. Next comes Emden’s waterfront promenade and the famous Kesselschleuse lock. From our dock at the Faldern Bridge, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to downtown Emden.
Starting at 12:30 p.m., you’ll have two hours in Emden to do a little shopping, visit the Kunsthalle, or explore the Landesmuseum. At 2:30 p.m., the MS Stadt Aurich departs from its berth at the Faldern Bridge for the return trip. The catering team provides refreshments on board.
Tip: Breakfast is €15.50 per person, by advance reservation only.
Boarding begins at 9:00 a.m., and departure is at 9:30 a.m. from the Aurich Harbor (corner of Hasseburgerstraße and Tannenbergstraße). The round trip takes about 8 hours, including a 2-hour stop in Emden.

- There are parking spaces right at the harbor. You will receive a parking pass once you board the ship. If these parking spaces are full, please use the large parking lot at the Sparkassen-Arena (Emder Str. 4).

The hourly charter rate also applies to empty trips and any waiting times. Charter tours from Aurich to Emden are available from mid-May through mid-September.
