The peat barge armada is a reminder of historic peat shipping. In the past, the peat farmers from the Teufelsmoor loaded their barges with peat to sell it in Bremen and on the Lower Weser. Even today, the black
oak boats with their brown sails are still symbols of the landscape. The skippers now take guests on board to show them the wonderful landscape along the rivers.
