Theikenmeer-Runde - Herbstliches Naturerlebnis

The Theikenmeer Nature Reserve, with its extensive moors and wetlands, is an ideal spot—especially in the fall—for observing northern waterfowl on their way to their wintering grounds. After a short tour of the Theikenmeer Nature and Geopark Station, featuring its informative exhibition “Nature – Time – People,” the fall hike begins through the Wehmer Dose down to the glacially formed heath lake, Theikenmeer. From the observation hill overlooking the moor meadows, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the moorland landscape around Theikenmeer. The hike concludes at the Bernhard Grzimek observation tower, where you can marvel at the vast, rewetted moorlands. Route length: approx. 7.5 km
