Steinernes Meer near Belm

The Gattberg, also known as the "Steinernes Meer" nature reserve, is the second oldest nature reserve in Lower Saxony after the Lüneburg Heath, having been placed under protection in 1924. The name comes from the countless erratic blocks that were left here at the end of the penultimate ice age around 200,000 years ago.
But how did the erratic blocks come to Belm? What stories did people tell about them?
These questions are addressed on a 3.8 km walk.

Notes: Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes, bring a seat and possibly a drink and a small picnic.
