Textilkunst-Ausstellung „Resonare“ im Kloster Mariensee
The Mariensee Monastery presents the textile art exhibition “Resonare” by Marie Katharina Fischer from the Wendland region.
The exhibition focuses on fabrics that have been dyed with plants and treated in a variety of ways. These textile artworks engage in a dialogue with the various spaces within the monastery. Inspired by the lighting conditions and architectural forms of the Cistercian Order, the artist has been developing a unique artwork for the monastery’s “House of Light” since 2025.
Opening on April 12, 3:00 p.m.
Introduction: Johannes Brandes
Music: Luise Volkmann, saxophone
4:00 p.m. Concert “Ista est speciosa”: Gregorian chants based on Abbess Odilie’s prayer book.
Guntars Pranis (Latvia/Norway), conductor and hurdy-gurdy. Choirs from the region, Jan Katzschke (concept and organ)
The exhibition is open daily during the monastery’s regular hours through October 18, 2026.
