Jan Liebermann, born in 2005, received his first piano lessons at the age of seven and began playing the organ at the age of twelve. He was a junior student of Prof. Gerhard Gnann at the Hochschule für Musik in Mainz and of Prof. Carsten Wiebusch at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt am Main. At the same time, he received piano lessons in the master class of Prof. Dr. Lev Natochenny. He is currently studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Prof. Martin Sander.

Jan is 1st prize winner of the Northern Ireland International Organ Competition 2024, 1st national prize winner in the solo organ category at the 2021 "Jugend musiziert" competition with the highest score, 2nd prize winner of the International Organ Competition 2024 and 2nd prize winner of the International Organ Competition 2021. Prize winner of the International Organ Competition Wuppertal 2023 and prize winner of the "International Young Organist Competition Moscow" 2020, the first International Organ Competition Deidesheim 2020 and the Concours International d'Orgue de Dudelange 2023. Furthermore, Jan is a special prize winner of the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben. He also received a scholarship from the Jürgen Ponto Foundation Berlin in 2021.

His concert activities have taken him to important centers of organ music, including the Berlin Philharmonie, Müpa Budapest, the Essen Philharmonie, Freiberg Cathedral, Paderborn Cathedral, Limburg Cathedral, Essen Cathedral, Münster Cathedral, Soest Cathedral, Freiburg Cathedral and St. Michaelis Hamburg. International concert tours have also taken him to England, where he has performed in York Minster, Westminster Abbey, Salisbury Cathedral, King's College Cambridge, Exeter Cathedral, Truro Cathedral, Selby Abbey and Southwark Cathedral in London, among others.

In spring 2024, Jan Liebermann caused a sensation in the organ world when he performed all six of Johann Sebastian Bach's trio sonatas from memory at several public concerts. He was subsequently awarded the 2024 Cultural Promotion Prize by the Rotary Club of Mainz for his artistic achievements and commitment. In the fall of 2025, Jan Liebermann was the first organist since the prize was introduced in 1998 to receive the Deutschlandfunk Sponsorship Award, which was presented to him at the Bremen Music Festival.
