Sommerliche Orgelkonzerte 2026 - Alexis Grizard
Alexis Grizard was born in Jena in 2002. He began playing the piano at the age of ten. A year later, he discovered his passion for the organ and was accepted into Philippe Brandeis' class at the Cergy-Pontoise Conservatoire. Since 2020, he has continued his studies at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris with Olivier Latry, Michel Bouvard and Thomas Ospital. Since 2021 he has also been studying ecriture with Fabien Waksman, Thibault Perrine and Thierry Escaich and since 2024 improvisation with David Cassan.
In the winter semester 2024/25 he took part in an Erasmus exchange program at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg with Professor Zerer. In 2019 Alexis was awarded 2nd prize at the "Festival Musical d'Automne de Jeunes Interprètes" competition. At the Concours d'Angers under the patronage of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in October 2023, Alexis was awarded the Grand Prix Jean-Louis Florentz, the prize for the best interpretation of a contemporary work as well as the audience prize, and one year later he won 1st prize at the Concours Darasse in Toulouse in the category "20th century organ". In 2025, he was awarded 1st prize and the gold medal for the best interpretation at the prestigious St. Albans International Organ Festival in Great Britain.
In 2021, Alexis took part in the recording of all of Olivier Messiaen's organ works in Toul Cathedral and this year he recorded his first solo CD with Rocamadour-Musique Sacrée - with works by Jean-Louis Florentz and Claude Debussy. Beyond the classical repertoire, Alexis is passionate about organ transcriptions of orchestral works, the compositions of Jean-Louis Florentz and the performance of new music. He regularly gives concerts as a soloist, in ensemble or with orchestra. Among other things, he has played 2 concerts as part of the performance of Bach's complete organ works at the Philharmonie in Paris. He can also be heard at major festivals, including "La Chaise-Dieu", "Toulouse les Orgues" and "Paris des Orgues".
