Regional Baptism Celebration at the Heidestrandbad in Hemmoor
A special experience awaits families and those being baptized at the regional baptism celebration at the Heidestrandbad in Hemmoor.
The celebration will take place on August 30, 2026, starting at 2:00 p.m. outdoors. Baptism brings generations together and welcomes people into the worldwide community of Christians. In addition to traditional baptisms during Sunday services, open baptismal celebrations in natural settings are becoming increasingly popular—they are communal, festive, and personal.
The Heidestrandbad in the Basbeck neighborhood—located directly behind the “OsteWelle” indoor pool—offers an atmospheric setting with a lake, sandy beach, and sunbathing areas. Those to be baptized of all ages, their families, and anyone interested from the congregations are invited.
Registration is available through the church offices of the participating congregations. Spontaneous baptisms on site are also welcome.
