POPSALON - KEO
TODAY IN THE LAGERHALLE: KEO
Some bands don't ask politely first - they just turn up, play their way into people's hearts and stay. KEO are one of them. The London quartet led by brothers Finn (vocals) and Conor Keogh (bass) represents a new generation of British guitar music that combines emotion, power and truthfulness. Music is in the band's blood: their father was an Irish folk musician and the brothers grew up touring and playing sessions before the family moved to Portugal. Their passion matured there, but the decisive step came with the move to London - where rock breathes loudly again. Together with guitarist Jimmy Lanwern and drummer Oli Spackman, Finn formed the band that soon established their name on London's stages. Rather than releasing songs immediately, KEO spent over two years playing every show they could get - often to small audiences, but with unwavering energy. This determination paid off: Even before their first release, they were selling out 400-capacity venues. With their debut EP "Sirens" (2025), they delivered an honest, unpolished statement - five songs, mostly recorded live, somewhere between alternative, shoegaze and grunge. Finn's raspy voice and lyrics about perfectionism, separation and self-doubt combine to create a haunting mixture of melancholy and liberation. KEO stand for handmade music with attitude - raw, honest and emotionally charged. At the Popsalon, they show that real rock is not back, but has never really gone away.
