For the German singer-songwriter HERBST, born in 2003, making music is like therapy. It means the most to him when it can be the same for the listener. HERBST's music is honest and approachable, characterized by vocal closeness and acoustic sound. The vulnerability and intimacy of his music and lyrics creates an appeal that moved the audience on social media after just a few posts. His classical piano training as a child equipped HERBST with two things: musical sensitivity and the melancholy of pianists such as Debussy or Chopin. As a teenager, he added the guitar. Inspired by Billie Eilish, he began to sing and write his own songs and found his genre in German indie. However, the breadth of his sound also includes testing genre boundaries. With great dramaturgical flair, he uses acoustic and electronic elements to tell his stories beyond the lyrics. He released his first single "gasleuchte" in June 2024, which reached one million streams within three months and attracted attention in the viral charts. He continues to touch his audience with his music on TikTok, but also at more and more live performances. He is supported by his friends, whom he met during his studies, on cello and electric guitar. He is currently working on releasing more singles and has just released his debut album at the beginning of fall 2025.
