TODAY IN THE LITTLE FREEDOM: ELLiS-D
Imagine David Byrne and David Bowie merging in a surreal scene from an 80s sci-fi classic. Then imagine this new creature stumbling straight into a gritty goth club of the same era. The result? ELLiS-D (aka Ellis Dickson) - part glam rock, part neurotic punk, but uncompromisingly style-defining and full of musical explosiveness. With "Drifting", ELLiS-D distils the raw energy of his "breathtaking" (Far Out) live shows into a seven-minute frenzy of lashing guitar riffs, psychedelic breakdowns, unexpected twists and rousing return moments. 2024 has already been an exceptional year for ELLiS-D: two nationwide headline tours, festival appearances with Kendal Calling and Left of The Dial and a two-week European tour with Fat Dog have set the stage for the next chapter - which will continue in the spring with another tour leg. The EP "Spill" was written and recorded by ELLiS-D himself at Hackney Road Studios with producer Shuta Shinoda (Hot Chip, Jenny Beth). "Drifting" is the grand finale of the seven-song EP - a wild, goth-tinged glam-punk trip, driven by pure energy and infused with 21st century paranoia.
