Osteroder Weihnachtsmarkt

From November 26, 2025 to January 1, 2026, the Kornmarkt in Osterode will shine in festive splendor. Visitors can look forward to an atmospheric mix of culinary delights, handmade gift ideas and a varied program for young and old.

Indulgence & crafts
Whether savory specialties, sweet treats or warming and refreshing drinks - the selection of delicacies leaves nothing to be desired. In the changing huts you will find lovingly crafted unique items, decorations and original presents for the gift table.

Adventure world for children
It's also magical for the youngest guests: carousel rides, colorful children's make-up activities with Farbakadabra and a visit from Santa Claus make children's eyes light up. Creativity is put to good use when painting Santa's house, while the fidget toy show provides exuberant fun.

The mulled hut - a meeting place with a special flair
The two-storey mulled hut is once again a popular focal point of the market. In addition to drinks, snacks and the opportunity to have a brunch at the weekends, it provides the ideal backdrop for Christmas parties and events. Planned events include the RockHarzWarmUp and Homecoming parties, various presentations (e.g. from the Harz National Park), wine tasting and an entertaining reading of Roland Lange's Christmas anecdotes. Outside of the events, the upper floor with seating for around 55 people is freely accessible to everyone.

Colorful program with dance & acrobatics, shows & music
In addition to the program in the Glühhütte, there is also plenty on offer at the market. Guests can enjoy performances by local groups and clubs or a great dog show. Bands and singer-songwriters from the region will also provide a festive atmosphere.

Twinkling lights & festive atmosphere
An impressive Christmas tree - donated by the Christ company - forms the centerpiece of the market. The decorations are complemented by small fir trees decorated by children from kindergartens and schools. A colorful supporting program provides many atmospheric moments.

The wishing angel - giving joy made easy
From mid-December, the Wishing Angel at the "Heimat Liebe" mulled wine hut by the Christmas tree invites you to join in. As part of the "Löwenmama" campaign, organized by Der Spielzeugladen, visitors can fulfill the wishes of seriously ill children who have to spend Christmas in hospital.

City bet with Mayor Jens Augat
Mayor Jens Augat also faces a new city bet in 2025. Under the moderation of Peter Imhof, the aim is once again to master an exciting challenge together with the people of Osterode - with a surprising wager should the mayor lose.

Curling rink & sporting competition
The curling rink not only invites you to play games with friends or family, but will also be the venue for the company championship. Teams can register and put their skills to the test. Reservations can be made via info@harzimpuls.de.

Advent city tours
On Advent Sundays, you have the opportunity to discover Osterode in its Christmas finery. The 90-minute tours start at 3 pm at the Christmas tree and take you through the historic old town with its half-timbered charm.
