With its small decorated wooden stalls, the traditional winter market in the mountain town of Altenau invites you to visit from December 19 to 31. A varied program is offered every day from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with mulled wine and sweets.
On December 31 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., the popular open-air New Year's Eve party also takes place. A highlight on New Year's Eve is the traditional torchlight hike with the HZV Altenau. The hike starts at 9:30 pm at the HZV Altenau hiking meeting point at the bus parking lot and ends at around 11:00 pm at the starting point. Torches can be purchased on site for a fee.
