The foggy moorland is home to all kinds of ghoulish figures and mythical creatures from times long past. Supported by brave children and adults, Findorff's heirs set off on a peat barge tour on the night of May 1st to drive them away.

All kinds of gruesome figures and mythical creatures from bygone times cavort in the foggy moorland. On Moorland Purgatory Night, they gather at the peat ship harbor. Well camouflaged and with homemade rattles, the children sail along the Kollbeck on the peat barges to keep the swamp creatures away from the peat boat harbor at the Kreuzkuhle and the canals. They are accompanied by the brave peat barge captains from Findorffs Erben.

The success of the mission is duly celebrated in the peat barge harbor on their return.
