Konzert

ABOUT THE CONCERT: Sacred choral music spanning five centuries, from Bach through the Romantic period to works by contemporary composers.
ABOUT THE CHOIR: The GÖTTINGER STADTKANTOREI is one of the choirs with the longest traditions in southern Lower Saxony. Since its founding in 1930, it has been closely associated with St. Johannis Church, the city council and market church in Göttingen. Under the artistic direction of Bernd Eberhardt, who has led the choir since 1999, the ensemble performs a challenging repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to the present day.
The choir has about 100 active members, including many students from Georg-August University, as well as people from all walks of life. Several members of the Göttinger Stadtkantorei come from East Frisia and/or are organists themselves, which is what motivated us to take this trip. About 60 singers will participate in the planned concert tour.
