The dismantling of the welfare state in Germany—which is reflected, among other things, in job losses and the erosion of workers’ rights—is directly linked to the arms race. Drawing on his experience in the labor movement and peace activism, Ralf Krämer highlights these connections and outlines possible solutions.
Speaker Ralf Krämer is an economist and social scientist and works as a union secretary in the economic policy department at the Verdi union. He is active in the peace movement, including in the initiative “Trade Unions Against Armament and War.”
