Die Gesellschaft nach dem Geld – Eine Welt der Commons statt der Konkurrenz (Wandelwoche Lüneburg 2026)
What might an economy look like that prioritizes cooperation and the common good?
In light of the climate crisis, species extinction, and social inequality, our current economic model is reaching its limits. Simon Sutterlütti from the Commons-Institut e.V. introduces the idea of “Commonism”—a concept based on collective economic activity, sharing, and mutual support. Using concrete examples such as community-supported agriculture and free software, he shows how alternatives are already emerging today and invites us to reflect on paths toward a more cooperative and sustainable economy.

The Lüneburg Transformation Week will take place from October 30 to November 8, 2026.
A good life for everyone is possible—if we engage in dialogue, share ideas, learn about different perspectives, and work together to find solutions.
Through >50 events organized by >60 Lüneburg-based initiatives, the Transformation Week showcases what’s already happening in Lüneburg, encourages people to get involved, and creates spaces for encounters, exchange, and collaborative experimentation. It addresses the big questions of our time: climate and sustainability, democracy, housing and mobility, social justice and diversity—and always includes how we talk about and debate these issues with one another.
How can we engage with one another respectfully and as equals? How do we keep the conversation going, even when we disagree? And how can we work together to shape a future worth living?
Transformation Week invites you to try exactly that.
A festival of transformation under the motto
“A good life for everyone is possible.”
