Führung durch das Flussseeschwalben Infozentrum
In the new interactive exhibition, there’s plenty to discover about the common tern, which is listed on the Red List of endangered bird species! Photos and videos offer insights into the lives of these small birds, which have had a breeding colony here—right in the middle of the city—for years. The exhibition vividly illustrates the work of scientists at the Institute for Ornithology and the long-term studies conducted in the colony on the behavior of these small migratory birds. Researchers from all over the world now come to Banter Lake to observe and study the common terns.
In the exhibition, visitors can step into a replica of the breeding island and then watch the lively activity in the bird colony through a large display window overlooking Lake Banter.
