Fine Bicycles – Perfectly Shaped & Fantastic (through January 10, 2027)

Is the bicycle a design object? Yes—and what a one! The exhibition explores the bicycle as a masterpiece of technology, craftsmanship, and design. Through selected exhibits spanning some 200 years of bicycle history, it vividly demonstrates how functionality and design language inspire and evolve together. From historic penny-farthing bicycles to elegant touring bikes and innovative racing and everyday models, this exhibition takes visitors on a fascinating journey through design.
Every bicycle tells its own story: of social change, technical progress, and the constant pursuit of perfection in materials, construction, and aesthetics. It becomes clear that the bicycle is far more than just a means of transportation—it is an expression of the spirit of the times, engineering artistry, and individual lifestyles.
For this special exhibition, the German Bicycle Museum in Bad Brückenau is providing truly extraordinary and rare exhibits. This high-caliber selection offers fascinating insights into two centuries of bicycle history and brings to life the evolution from a simple means of transportation to a modern design classic.
